Newborn in Kansas City Attacked by Rat

A rat climbed into a four-week-old newborn’s crib and bit off her nose and part of her upper lip while the newborn slept. The parents were awakened at 8:40am by a heart and breathing alarm used to monitor the premature infant.
Rats Running Wild at Taco Bell/KFC in New York - Video

News video shows about a dozen rats running around a KFC-Taco Bell restaurant in Greenwich Village. The footage showed the rats running around the floor, between counters and tables and on children's high chairs.
Rodent Infestation Causes Controversy at U.N.

A series of stories reporting a problem of "rodent" infestation at United Nations headquarters, including the complex's five restaurants, some of which are open to the public. Records show that the United Nations has denied requests for health inspections by NYC for at least 20 years. The U.N. claims that its "functional" immunity exempts it from NYC-US laws, including those of health and safety.
Walter Reed Conditions Deplorable

Walter Reed is a military hospital that, among other things, houses wounded soldiers and Marines that are no longer confined to hospital beds but still need treatment or are waiting to be discharged or sent back overseas. Soldiers are housed in buildings that feature "mouse droppings, belly-up cockroaches, stained carpets, cheap mattresses."
